Governor's Heritage Preservation Honor Awards (2000-Present)

Since 1982, the Arizona Preservation Foundation and State Historic Preservation Office have partnered to present the Governor’s Heritage Honor Preservation Awards. The awards recognize people, organizations, and projects that represent outstanding achievements in preserving Arizona’s historic resources. The ten award winners are introduced and the James W. Garrison Grand Award winner is announced at the annual Arizona Historic Preservation Conference. The James W. Garrison Grand Award is selected by the Governor in honor of James W. Garrison who served for 24 years as Arizona's SHPO. The award is selected from among the year's award winners as representative of "the best of the best" in heritage preservation.
